Meiosis is a special form of cell division associated with the production of gametes and in sexually reproducing organism. In meiosis, a diploid cell undergoes two rounds of cell divition, one in which each daughter cell receives one copy of one copy of each chromosomes, then each divides again to produce of four haploid gametes.
